Update on 2009 Philippine Collegiate Championship Games

The Zonal Qualifying games of the 2009 Philippine Collegiate Championship will be held at three locations, namely Manila , Naga City and Cebu City . At stake during these zonal games are seven slots in the “Sweet 16” finals.

Completing the Finals lineup are the top four teams from the ongoing UAAP and NCAA tournaments and the CESAFI ( Cebu ) Champion.

The North-Central Luzon – Metro Manila Zonal will be held from November 9 to 12 at various school gyms in Metro Manila. Participating teams are the North-Central Luzon regional champion, ISAA champion, UCAA Champion, PISCUAA champion, and the 6 th rank NCAA team. The top two teams qualify to the “Sweet 16” finals.

The South Luzon-Bicol –Metro Manila Zonal will be hosted by Naga City and will be held from November 12 to 14 at the University of Nueva Caceres Gym. Participating teams are the South Luzon-Bicol regional champion, NCAA-South champion, UCLAAI champion, and the 6 th rank UAAP team. The top team earns a seat in the “Sweet 16” finals.

The Vis-Min – Metro Manila Zonal will be played at Cebu City from November 4 to 8 at the Cebu City Coliseum. Participating teams from Metro Manila are the NAASCU champion and the 5 th ranked teams of the UAAP and NCAA leagues. Other participants are the Visayas regional champion, the Mindanao regional champion, and the 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th ranked teams from the CESAFI ( Cebu ) league. Four seats in the “Sweet 16” Finals are at stake in these games.
